The only way to ensure the future is cared for is to help build the infrastructure that utilises the gifts of nature, and produce environmentally friendly energy. DDC has a long standing commitment to the environment and planning for a sustainable future.

Renewable Solution

The role of energy is central in our daily lives. We need it to power our homes, our hospitals, our schools, our retailers, our transport, our computers and everything that depends on them.

Reliable and affordable energy supplies are essential for our whole economy.

To avoid the escalating impacts of climate change, we need to urgently reduce carbon pollution and make the switch to clean forms of renewable energy like solar. Here in Australia we have access to an abundant amount of renewable energy from natural sources such as water, wind, and solar. Did you know our country has the highest solar radiation per square metre of any continent? The only areas of the globe which have similar expanses of solar radiation are the Sahara and Kalahari deserts in Africa!

As the global transition away from fossil fuels picks up pace, there has never been a better time for Australia to get on board through a DDC powered shift to a renewable energy future.

Why Renewable?

Globally, energy use accounts for around 2/3 of annual greenhouse gas emissions, with coal, oil and gas the biggest contributors.

Climate change is among the biggest environmental challenges facing the world today.

Communities here in Australia and around the world are being directly and indirectly impacted. Extreme weather events such as heat waves, floods, droughts and bushfires are projected to increase in frequency and intensity.

Australia is the highest greenhouse gas polluter, on a per capita basis, among the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. This is because most of our electricity is currently produced by coal-fired power stations, making coal the number one source of carbon pollution in our country.
